Research Interest

・ Recently, I’m interested in rehabilitation of mental and physical disorder with EEG-based Brain-Computer/Machine Interface (BCI/BMI). An EEG-based BCI can be used to control external devices such as computers, wheelchairs, robot or virtual environments.

I succeeded in developing a high-accuracy neuro-feedback system using EEG with motor imagery and oddball tasks (single-trial P300-BCI) for the purpose of use in neuro-rehabilitation, in collaboration with TOYOYA and Lab for Advanced Brain Signal Processing of BSI.

・ Much of my previous research has focused on investigating the role of the frontal cortex (including Broca's area, Cingulate Cortex) and the Basal ganglia loop in speech segmentation and sequential rule learning processes, using event-related potential (ERP), dipole tracking, eye tracking, near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) and fMRI studies.
